- Rippling clients can now book flights and hotels from inside the Rippling platform, with seamless payment and automated expense tracking.
- Finance teams can set granular policies to control budget and see every trip in real time, with receipts and budgets syncing automatically – no manual expense uploads or end-of-month surprises.
- Leveraging Duffel Flights and Stays products, Rippling built a state-of-the-art travel booking tool matching the standalone leaders in the space, at a fraction of the operational hassle or cost.
LONDON – Duffel, the travel-tech toolkit that lets any business sell flights, hotels and extras with a single API – has partnered with Rippling, a leading business software platform, to launch Rippling Travel: a fully integrated corporate travel booking experience inside Rippling’s Spend Management suite.
Rippling brings HR, IT and Spend together on one platform, giving global businesses a single source of truth for employee data. Its Spend Management suite already combines corporate cards, expense management and bill pay alongside payroll. And now, through its integration with Duffel’s platform, Rippling businesses can manage travel spend in the same place.
With Rippling Travel, employees can book and manage flights, hotels, upgrades and extras without leaving the Rippling platform, mixing company cards with policy-controlled payment rules at the checkout. Finance teams can then see every trip in real time, with receipts, VAT codes, exchange rates and budgets syncing automatically – no manual expense uploads or end-of-month surprises.
Travel and entertainment is the second-largest expense for companies, contributing up to 12% of an average business’s budget. Yet a quarter of firms admit to having poor visibility over how and where this money is spent. Rippling Travel aims to solve this.
Growing demand
With $2.09 trillion having been spent on business travel in 2024 alone – surpassing pre-pandemic levels – the partnership represents the growing demand from platforms for Duffel’s travel tech.
Instead of having to integrate dozens of legacy systems to access travel inventory, setting up accredited agencies, signing deals with airlines and hotels, Duffel offers a vertically integrated travel agency, available via a modern API. Integration takes weeks, rather than months, and platforms like Rippling can tap into hundreds of carriers, including American Airlines, British Airways, Southwest, and United, via Duffel Flights, and access millions of hotel rooms through Duffel Stays.
Timo Sheridan, Rippling Travel Product Lead, said: “Travel can be a huge expense and administrative headache for businesses across all sectors. Rippling Travel leverages Duffel so our clients and their employees can easily browse and book flights and hotels in the same place where they manage payroll, cards and invoices. Rippling Travel gives companies full visibility and real-time control for the first time, without the administrative burden. Duffel gives Rippling full product customisability and support without the travel industry’s typical hassle and cost.”
Steve Domin, co-founder and CEO of Duffel, said: “Travel is one of the biggest company expenses yet it’s often the last to come under real-time control. By embedding Duffel in Rippling, we’re turning that spend into something finance teams can track and shape, while employees get the same smooth booking experience they expect from consumer apps.”
